What are your fitness goals? To stay in shape while working full time

How long has this been a goal of yours? The last 3 years

How have your workouts at CFX helped you with this? CFX provides me with the necessary equipment and machines to help me get my workouts in every day for all body parts

What do you like most about working out at CFX? The community and friendly staff

Which do you prefer: Cardio or Weights? Weights

What are 3 of your favorite hobbies? Working out, writing music and traveling

What would you say to inspire someone who is on the fence about joining a gym for the first time? It only takes someone 12ish days to create a habit. This is coming from someone who lost around 100lbs in a year. Once I started and saw some positive changes, I got addicted to the hustle and science behind working out. It will help you grow as a person mentally and physically. CFX is a perfect place to start due to the friendly community and staff. No one will judge you because we all started at different levels at some point. 

Name a positive moment you’ve had with a staff member: I have many. I’ve become close with the majority of the staff members. Jordan is very friendly and welcoming. Mike is a wonderful manager – keeps the place organized and clean. Too many positive experiences; hence I’m still a member. 

What advice would you give someone with similar fitness goals? It all starts with your diet. Learn the science behind macronutrients because it’ll help you see positive changes. All the information is available online. You don’t need to have a college degree in nutrition to understand calories in vs. calories out. Get on Youtube or Google and learn about what your body needs to stay in shape/lose weight, then come to the gym and apply yourself consistently.

What are your fitness goals? Slim down and tone up 

How long has this been a goal of yours? Longer than I’d like to admit, but I’m still working on it!

How have your workouts at CFX helped you with this? By holding me accountable to attend the workout classes

What do you like most about working out at CFX? That there is a workout class every day of the week. I love when classes are held on the turf. If I can’t go to a class, I can use the virtual fitness room. 

Which do you prefer: Cardio or Weights? I like doing circuits of weights with bursts of cardio in between to keep my heart rate up

What are 3 of your favorite hobbies? Reading, baking and sleeping 

What would you say to someone who is on the fence about joining a gym for the first time? Find out what you enjoy doing and look forward to the gym. You won’t know until you start showing up and try different things! I tried 

Name a positive moment you had with a staff member: I started consistently coming to the gym in 2018 when I was going through a difficult time. Nancy noticed and talked with me, and made me feel better. There’s a Virtual Emergency Nurse week 5K in October and set up a date, time, place and route so people can complete it together. Sebastian passed this information along to gym staff and members, which I really appreciated. Nathan is participating in the 5K to show his support, and motivating and knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. 

What advice would you give someone with similar fitness goals? Don’t wait until next month, Monday or tomorrow. You won’t reach your goal until you start, which should be right now!

How have your workouts at CFX helped you with this? Close to home so it allows me to be consistent 

What do you like most about working out at CFX? Friendly members and staff

Which do you prefer: Cardio or Weights? Weights

What are 3 of your favorite hobbies? Powerlifting and strong man competitions and rock climbing

What would you tell someone who is on the fence about joining a gym for the first time? Your life/body will not change until you make a change. Take the first step towards your goals. Just simply show up. Showing up in the hardest part but everyone is capable.

Name a positive moment you had with a staff member: Lydia, Omar and Ryan all helped me achieve new maxes on weights. They all hyped me up and cheered for me while I struggled getting the weight up They gave me confidence.

What advice would you give to someone with similar fitness goals? Aim low. Don’t aim for the moon. Go for small goals you can achieve daily. Planning life out this way will make everything seem possible.

How have your workouts at CFX helped you with this? Great equipment, all the free weights and machines. It has everything you need to get an awesome workout.

What do you like most about working out at CFX? It is open 24 hours and I am able to workout at 4am

Which do you prefer: Cardio or Weights? Weights in the morning and cardio in the evening

What are 3 of your favorite hobbies? Weight lifting, golf and working outside

What would you tell someone who is on the fence about joining a gym for the first time? You need to start somewhere

Name a positive moment you had with a staff member: Always friendly when you come in 

What advice would you give someone with similar fitness goals? Train like it’s your last time every time you come, and diet is everything.
